BRING IT ON was a Hit!

Jordan High School presented their fall musical for 2016: BRING IT ON: THE MUSICAL! Featuring hop-hop, rap, and jaw-dropping cheerleading routines, Bring It On: The Musical left audiences laughing and cheering!

Based on the popular movie series of the same name and featuring music and lyrics by Lin-Manuel Miranda (the genius who created the Broadway sensation HAMILTON), BRING IN ON: THE MUSICAL offered Jordan audiences a frank, affectionate, and thought-provoking view of high school life. Campbell, a senior and captain of the cheerleading squad, has her life turned upside down when she suddenly finds herself redistricted to another high school on the other side of town. A stranger in a strange land, Campbell seeks to make the best of a bad situation — until she starts to realize that her transfer was a simple accident! Now, she has to fight back, and she enlists her new classmates to help her.

The theatre department worked in association with Jordan's own River Valley All-Stars, the award-winning competitive cheerleading company, to guide their cheer routines. The musical, directed by Anthony Rydberg and Kathryn Schuld, also featured the choreography of Jordan alumna Anne Colling. Josh Barnd, Jordan's resident tech guru, provided the brilliant audio-visual effects for the production.

In 2015, the JHS theatre department performed  Fifty Neo-Futurist Plays from Too Much Light Makes the Baby Go Blind (50 Plays in 90 Minutes) by Greg Allen, lead ensemble member of the Neo-Futurists, a theatrical company that has developed this play over more than twenty-five years.

In 2014-2015, the JHS fall musical, The Music Man, performed November 13-16 at the Jordan High School auditorium. With over 70 students involved, this show was a great community event that was fun for the entire family! More than 1,700 people attended the four performances, selling out three of them, and the show was received very enthusiastically by audiences.

In 2013, Jordan High School presented The Crucible. In 2012, they performed Disney's Beauty and the Beast. In 2011, the fall play was Completely Hollywood (Abridged).
