Hello, and welcome to class!
My name is Mrs. Fenstermacher. This is my third year teaching at Jordan High School and I am very excited to be back for another great year!
A little background information on me:
In 2012 I graduated from the University of Minnesota with a B.A. degree in Global Studies and a minor in Journalism and Mass Communication. Upon graduation I entered the Master’s Degree program at the College of St. Scholastica where I received my 5-12 Social Studies Teaching Licensure, as well as my Masters of Science in Education. For the last two school years I have been teaching Economics, Psychology, Sociology, and Government & Law, and am excited to be adding Current Events to my instruction this school year. Prior to Jordan, I had additional experience teaching Geography, U.S. History, and World History.
My favorite part of teaching is seeing the progress and growth that students make throughout the school year. For this reason, it is my goal to create as many opportunities as possible for students to gain knowledge and experiences that challenge them, helps them grow, and provides them with tools they can use in their future. In my classroom I emphasize character-building and educational growth and encourage open-mindedness to the varying perspectives that individuals have and share.
I recently celebrated my two year anniversary on a two-week Mediterranean cruise with my amazing husband Christian. We own a home here in Jordan and absolutely love the community! In my spare time I like to be active and involved in various communities and organizations. I have a passion for running, hockey, soccer, lacrosse and just about any sport you can name. I am also the head girls’ varsity lacrosse coach at Prior Lake High School and the JV girls' soccer & Varsity defense coach here at Jordan! I have been coaching at Prior Lake since 2008, at Jordan since 2014, running marathons since 2011, and continue to look for new adventures and challenges.
Please never hesitate to contact me.
I look forward to meeting you soon!
